How to track Artificial Intelligence (AI) related assistance in Neoserra for reporting Google AI-U

Neoserra can track your AI-related actvity for reporting to ASBDC as part of their AI U Annual Report. The following four questions can be answered by the AI U Annual Scorecard assuming you are capturing your AI activity in Neoserra as per this FAQ:

  • Section III, Q1: Total clients served by AI U-trained advisors
  • Section III, Q2: Clients who received AI-specific guidance
  • Section III, Q4: Businesses that adopted AI tools
  • Section III, Q7: Businesses reporting measurable improvements

AI Area of Expertise

Neoserra offers the "AI Trained/Certified" option as part of the "Area(s) of Expertise" field on the counselor record:

The "AI Trained/Certified" option is designed to identify those counselors who have completed either all 5 LMS modules, or who have completed the in-person certification training offered during the America's SBDC Annual Conference.

If you don't currently have the field "Area(s) of Expertise" enabled on your counselor record then this is something Database Administrators can do from the Administration|Configuration|Field Requirements panel. Optionally, you can also enable other areas of expertise to be available for selection within this field. Neoserra offers the following system-defined field that can be enabled, as needed:

By default these choices are inactivated but you can enable them or create your own user-defined choices.

Keep in mind, only counselors with the "AI Trained/Certified" option selected will be considered for the first line of the scorecard.

AI Professional Development

Optionally, you can also track a counselor's progress towards completing all 5 LMS modules. Within the Professional Development module, Neoserra offers the following choices to track the progress as part of the Google AIU:

  • AI-U Business Planning and Operations
  • AI-U Financial Management
  • AI-U In-person Certification
  • AI-U Marketing
  • AI-U Measuring Impact
  • AI-U Overview

And you will see the topics within the professional development record:

Tracking the modules is not required in order to run the "AI U Annual Scorecard", however, Neoserra offers this choice for added tracking purposes. You will still need to manually update the counselor record if/when a counselor id fully AI Trained per Google's requirements.

If the Professional Development module is not enabled in your database, then your database administrator can turn it on from the General Settings menu.

AI Area of Counseling

In order to know whether a client was provided assistance related to AI, you will need to choose the "Artificial Intelligence" option EITHER within the "Counseling Area" drop down, OR within the "Additional Areas" drop down, on the counseling session record. Any session that includes "Artificial Intelligence" in either field will be considered for inclusion on the scorecard.

AI Milestones

The last two questions on the "AI U Annual Scorecard" ask whether the client has adopted any AI tools within their organization, and whether they have see any measurable improvement since they implemented AI. In order to track this information, Neoserra offers two milestones:

  • AI Tools Implemented milestone - for clients who have implemented at least one AI tool after receiving SBDC guidance
  • AI Improvement Realized milestone - for clients who reported improvements (revenue growth, cost savings, time savings, improved customer satisfaction, etc.) after implementing AI
