Understanding the Date Interval Scorecard
This scorecard includes all the date interval tracking calculations offered in Neoserra.
Date interval tracking measures the average time between one event and another event. For example, it can measure the average time between the start date of a client and their first counseling session. Or the average time between their first initial counseling session and their first follow-up counseling session.
When you create the definition for this scorecard and you set the date range, then you should be aware that Neoserra assumes that the FIRST event must fall within the date range, and the second event can occur at any time after the first event. If the second event occurs before the first event, then this would create a negative event, and it is ignored for purposes of the scorecard line item calculations.
Lastly, it is important to note that the average number of days are always presented as whole numbers. Thus, if client X receives their first counseling session 2 days after their start date; and Client Y received their first counseling session 3 days their start date, then 2 + 3 = 5 and the average would be 2.5 which is rounded to 3 days on average on the scorecard.
Neoserra offers a number of system-defined ways of tracking intervals, each of which is described below:
- Average # of Days between Client Sign-up and Client Start Date

To run the scorecard, simply select Manage|Scorecards and then choose Generate Scorecard. From the "Layout" drop down choose: "Date Interval Scorecard" and then set the dates, centers and funding sources as appropriate, keeping in mind that this scorecard has specific rules that may be different from other scorecards. In order for a client/session to be considered for this scorecard it must:
- The initial and follow-up sessions/events must have the Reportable? check box selected, and it should be noted that admin, close-out and impact sessions are all ignored for purposes of this scorecard;
- The "leading" event must have a date that falls between the Cumulative Period Start Date and the Scorecard End Date;
- The "following" event can not have occured, at any time, prior to the leading event;
- All records, including the corresponding client and/or session records must be assigned to the center(s) specified in the scorecard definition;
- Both the "leading" and the "following" session records must be categorized under the funding/sub-funding sources specified in the scorecard definition.
Note: Several scorecard line items reference the "first session" or "first training attendance," it is important to realize that this references the 1st session/training within the scorecard reporting period, not the 1st session/training over the course of the client's entire history.
